The Schering Foundation
Promoting science and cultural life is an important concern of Bayer Schering Pharma. This commitment was given an institutional framework in the autumn of 2002 with the formation of the Ernst Schering Foundation. The idea behind this step was the desire to express the great importance of the sustainable promotion of science and culture and to make this outwardly visible.
This non-profit foundation honours excellent performance in the life sciences and the cultural sphere. Special priority is given to promoting young, up-and-coming scientists and artists. The Foundation has also been running Schering's corporate museum since 2006. In 2006, Bayer increased the Foundation's capital by €10 million to €35 million.
